Who Am I and Why did I Embark on Such a Journey?

Hello, this is Fatih Aydın. I am an art director and an artist. I’ have undertaken the project

I call Pixel Portraits Art as a result of Everything I’ve done in my life, from building up and developing my skills in the art faculty to utilizing them in different business sectors such as education, gaming and technology, even the comic books I have read and the movies

I have watched has contributed to me taking on this quest to discover and present popular culture of all times in pixel like artwork and I am also curious to discover where this journey will take me, in the rising digital world of ours.

My Journey Through Art and Teaching:

My journey in the world of art led me to remarkable experiences. I had the privilege of working as an instructor at Marmara University, where I shared my knowledge through lectures on perspective, a fundamental aspect of art. It was during this time that I began to adapt and apply the concept of perspective to the intricate world of pixels.

This teaching experience deepened my understanding of artistic concepts and their practical applications in pixel artistry.

Exploring Pixel Art Through Gaming:

Additionally, my career took me to the gaming industry, where I served as an art director specializing in creating pixel games. It was during this time that I truly immersed myself in the world of pixels. The intricacies of pixel art in gaming fascinated me and laid the foundation for the unique art form I'm now producing.

My Artistic Process:

Technically speaking, after conducting pattern research of the character to be drawn,

I begin the creative process with charcoal. The series of portraits that I craft with an ink pen on paper, each sized at 100x70cm, are a marriage of pixels and traditional art.

These portraits are meticulously created on paper, adhering to the one-point perspective technique, where squares with sizes close to 1cm x 1cm create a captivating visual effect. My works come to life through composition, light-shadow interplay, and the play of light and dark values on the canvas.

The Metaverse Through Pixel Portraits:

My journey has led me to the enchanting world of pixel art, and through my Pixel Portrait Art projects, I aim to share this captivating art form with the world. These artworks, born from a rich tapestry of experiences, hold the promise of going further

and developing in the metaverse.
